Dielectric loss of SrTiO3 single crystals under direct current bias
The dielectric behavior of SrTiO3 single crystals under high dc electric field ~up to 50 kV/cm! is reported in this letter. The rounded dielectric constant peaks are induced by the application of dc bias, and the corresponding dielectric losses are observed. The results show that dielectric loss under dc bias consists of several components coming from ‘‘defects mode’’ and ‘‘induced mode.’’ The ...
متن کاملReversible insulator-metal transition of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface for nonvolatile memory
We report a new type of memory device based on insulating LaAlO₃/SrTiO₃ (LAO/STO) hetero-interface. The microstructures of the LAO/STO interface are characterized by Cs-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy, which reveals the element intermixing at the interface. The inhomogeneous element distribution may result in carrier localization, which is responsible for the insulating stat...
متن کاملHydrothermal derived nitrogen doped SrTiO3 for efficient visible light driven photocatalytic reduction of chromium(VI)
In this work, we report on the synthesis of nitrogen doped SrTiO3 nanoparticles with efficient visible light driven photocatalytic activity toward Cr(VI) by the solvothermal method. The samples are carefully characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and photocatalytic test. It is found that nitroge...
متن کاملCurrent-driven vortex dynamics in untwinned YBa2Cu3O7 superconducting single crystals
Current-driven vortex dynamics of type-II superconductors in the weak-pinning limit is investigated by quantitatively studying the current-dependent vortex dissipation of an untwinned YBa2Cu3O7 single crystal. For applied current densities (J ) substantially larger than the critical current density (Jc), non-linear resistive peaks appear below the thermodynamic firstorder vortex-lattice melting...
متن کاملA current-driven single-atom memory.
The possibility of fabricating electronic devices with functional building blocks of atomic size is a major driving force of nanotechnology. The key elements in electronic circuits are switches, usually realized by transistors, which can be configured to perform memory operations. Electronic switches have been miniaturized all the way down to the atomic scale. However, at such scales, three-ter...
